Accessories should suit your style and shape. There is no point wearing a grunge hat if you are uncomfortable and similarly what’s the point of putting on heels if you hate them.
Here are a few simple ideas to help you accessorise to suit you!
- V and Y- shaped necklaces draw the eye down and flaunt your cleavage if you wish whilst round necklaces will fill the neckline
- Ultra long earrings make your neck look longer making you look taller
- A long, trailing belt will make your legs look longer legs
- Costume jewellery with bright, bold colours add fun and colour and a bit of sparkle to a casual outfit
- Scarves can make you look sophisticated and arty
- Make your eyes sparkle by using a contrasting eye shadow to your outfit
- Always use black if you want a dramatic look
- Use red lipstick for a classic look but choose one close to your own natural colour for precision.
- If you are creating bold eyes then keep paler lips and vice versa!
- For everyday you should have a good sized leather bag in a classic style cut
- For evening wear use a sparkly clutch bag or find a shoulder bag with a chain strap.
- Always remember less is more!
- Pick one style per outfit and don’t go mad, often one or two accessories will look glamorous enough.
Lastly, you should dress for the time of year:
- in spring time use a bronzer and shimmery make up
- in summer wear low cut and soft fabrics in bright colours
- in the autumn use matte make up with slightly darker tones
- in winter wear natural colours and natural fabrics, knitwear, leather, cotton, linen
