GlamourPussBuying lingerie can be a complete nightmare… you feel self conscious, you don’t know where to start, you are not sure what colour, style etc etc etc.

We know that is not relaxing and shouldn’t have to be like that, so we recommend that you take your time, check a few places out, take a trusted friend to help and choose what you feel good in, not what you think someone else will like!

Here are our tips to make sure you buy what is good for you. Your lingerie is one of your most important purchases.

  • It is vitally important that its fit perfectly and look good under clothing. Get your size checked and try different styles.
  • Listen to the sales rep, ask questions, talk about size, style, colour and problem areas that you want to cover up. Don’t feel embarrassed since this is part of their job and they know how to answer your questions. They also know the discrepancies between designers and fabrics and will find something that looks great on you.
  • Check the styles. When buying your lingerie, it is important to know all the options. From see-through bras, full coverage bras, padded or push up bras, and cami tops to thongs, boy shorts, bikinis and skirt underwear. See what suits you and what you feel comfortable in.
  • Lingerie colour can set your mood so choose carefully! White or skin coloured lingerie is best for under-clothing wear. Black and red are usually considered sexier colours. Any other colour is generally seen as playful.
  • Know what you will be using your lingerie for. Is it be for everyday use or for a romance? Obviously, your choice in lingerie will differ depending on what it is used for and knowing before you head out to the store will help you decide whether you need something practical or something mouth wateringly impractical.
  • Bras, you should get measured and fitted correctly before you start splashing out. A good bra should sit level around your body. You shouldn’t bulge over the cup as this shows it is too small, nor should leave wrinkles of material showing the cup is too big. Underwires and straps should not dig into the body so check the bra straps are suitably adjusted – your breasts should be supported by your body and not the straps.
  • Take a trusted friend, she may help ease your self consciousness and offer good advice as to whether it really does (or maybe doesnt) look good!
