Male grooming, they all do it, really!
Okay, so maybe they don’t, or not as often as we would like them to. Want some ideas to help guide your man into being perfectly groomed? Here is what we discovered! GP’s tips to get your man groomed to perfection!
Eyebrows
There are many men out there who suffer from the infamous unibrow – when two eyebrows appear as one because of a continuous line of hair. If this sounds a little too familiar, then it’s time for you teach your man how to tame them. There are several ways to eliminate this problem: get your man to have a professional wax at a salon (might be tricky) or offer to do it for him, as a little pamper treat, tell him how all the big stars do it and it won’t hurt and he will feel so much better! Alternatively offer to pluck them, let him lie his head in your lap, start with a gentle warm flannel rub and then tidy up those brows!
Nails
People notice hands, they are a part of how you express yourself when you are communicating and so he needs to take care of them, just as you do yours. If he is are a nail biter he needs to stop immediately. Remind him there is nothing uglier than a set of ragged fingernails that have been chewed down to the knuckle. Keep in mind though that long fingernails on men are equally starnge. So it’s important to keep them short enough so that you don’t hurt people during handshakes. Give him a manicure, he might just like it and his nails will look fab! Check his toenails, (okay, you might want him to do that!) nasty toenails are a complete turnoff. Remind him to keep them trimmed and keep them clean.
Hair
Most men don’t get haircuts frequently enough, which contributes to an overall overgrown look. So make an appointment for him, tell him you knew he had forgotten and you were just thinking of him! (Our recommendation is once every five weeks.) If he likes the unkempt rock star look, try to make sure his hair isn’t greasy or dirty, offer to wash it and give him a head massage!
For men who use styling products in their hair, they are often fall victim to Shiny Forehead Syndrome. This is when the styling product they are using in their hair gets all over their forehead leaving a shiny film. The solution is simple. Be subtle, offer to mop their brow for them. Alternatively find a less slick product for them.
Aftershave
Encourage him to splash out on something new and trendy if he smells like his dad (or buy him something). Alternatively recommend one, tell him you smelt the tester in a store and drag him out to buy him some. Get him to test it, just like perfume, aftershave can smell different on different people. Check he isn’t mixing – one brand in the shower another after, get him the works, shower gel etc. Check he isn’t wearing too much, there is nothing worse than that overpowering smell of an aftershave, just like perfume!
If your man does all of this already then you are one lucky lady, if he doesn’t then he just needs a nudge in the right direction!
