Of course they do, just like us!

The skin is the largest organ of the body in both men & women.

However there are some differences, we have put together a simple guide to help you understand his skin a little better!

  • The structure of the skin is more or less the same but men tend to have a thicker epidermis (top layer)
  • Men require a larger water intake than us to maintain hydration
  • Men’s facial skin includes hair follicles that take in more UV rays, so sunscreen is more important!
  • This thicker facial hair produces more sebum (an oily substance). These glands are more concentrated in the scalp, face and forehead and the cells tend to build up and become sticky causing blackheads.
  • Men are also prone to ingrown hairs on the face leaving nasty bumps or spots.

Normal Skin is smooth and clear in texture and feels even, soft and clear. He will get occasional spots and dry skin can build up if not moisturized.

Dry Skin is thin, with shallow pores and a little prone to capillary damage. It may feel tight, red and blemished after cleansing and toning. He may develop lines as the skin lacks moisture.

Oily or Combination Skin will appear oily usually around the nose, and forehead areas, maybe even look shiny and greasy. His skin will feel rough and uneven. He may suffer from dryness on his cheeks and a few spots and blackheads.

Sensitive skin can look blotchy and red and reacts to products. It may feel hot and stings when irritated. He may suffer from flakiness and blemishes.
